How it works
The FinEdu Track process
Every student is placed in one of two categories according to the programme of study. Each category follows its own path, and the results move up from faculty guide to institution to regulator.
Step by step
From enrolment to national reporting
Category 1
Commerce, Management and Economics students
- Core financial education subjectsTaken as part of the programme
- Industry certificationFrom NISM, NSE Academy or BSE Institute
- Internship of at least 45 daysWith a financial organisation, logged daily
- Community outreach projectTeaching financial basics to at least five people
Community membersEach takes a short quiz before and after the sessions, so the improvement is measured
Category 2
Science, Engineering, Humanities and other students
- Elective financial education courseAt least one, chosen alongside the main programme
- Industry certificationAt least one, from NISM, NSE Academy or BSE Institute
Financial education reaches every graduate, not only commerce students.
Measuring outreach
Before and after, for every person reached
The same areas of knowledge are tested before the sessions and after them. The difference is that person's improvement, and it is recorded for the student, the institution and beyond.
Illustrative example: an improvement of 26 points on a 100-point scale.
